While speaking in the Assembly, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath put SP-Congress in the dock regarding the temple found closed for 46 years in Sambhal, now a war of words has started. SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav said that we had not closed the temple. The SP leader said that if someone lies wearing saffron clothes then there is no cure for it. BJP has also retaliated on the statement of the SP leader.

SP national general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav said, “It is untrue that we had got the Sambhal temple closed. The people who owned the land had themselves closed it and gone away. If someone lies wearing saffron clothes, there is no cure for him.”

Countering Ram Gopal Yadav’s statement, BJP MLA Siddharthnath Singh said that one who is a saint speaks the truth. He said, “The history of Sambhal dates back to 1978. Akhilesh Yadav should answer what he had done till now against the riots that took place in Sambhal. A saint speaks the truth. SP has no answer to CM Yogi’s speech. The answer is no. What problem does SP have in saying Jai Shri Ram?

What did CM Yogi say about Sambhal?

CM Yogi had said in the Assembly, “The history of riots in Sambhal starts from 1947. Six people were killed in 1948. Riots happened again in 1958. In 1962, 1976, 5 people died there. In 1978 184 Hindus were massacred and 184 Hindus were burnt there. You will not accept that truth and there was a curfew there for several months, there was one death in 1982, four people died in 1990, five in 1992, two in 1996. This has been going on continuously.”

He said, “The riots that took place in Sambhal in 1978. What kind of situation was there. A Vaishya who had lent money to everyone. Hindus from nearby areas would gather in his house, after gathering he would be surrounded. When they asked why the rioters asked for money, then their legs were cut. These people talk about harmony.”
