New Delhi: Sunrisers Hyderabad star Abhishek Sharma broke several records in 55 balls against Punjab Kings in IPL 2025. He was still struggling with poor form in the league. Not a single six came out of his bat before this match. However, even after this great performance, Abhishek admitted that his father is still not satisfied with his performance. With an innings of 141 runs, Abhishek became the biggest innings of Indians in the IPL.

What did Abhishek Sharma say about the father?

After the match, Abhishek Sharma said that his father is still not completely happy with his innings. His father wants him to remain unbeaten till the end and win the team. Abhishek said after the match, ‘This was very special. My father has come to see my match since the days of Under-14. If you look at them during my innings, then you will see them pointing to me, tell me which shot to play – ‘Play this shot, play that shot’. He was my first coach. I feel very special in doing this in front of my mother and father.

Abhishek further said, ‘I think this is my biggest score in IPL. My father always keeps asking me to finish the game, so he is still not satisfied. There is always scope for improvement. I will keep working hard.

Father’s reaction on son’s innings

Abhishek’s father said that he is very happy to see his son playing a brilliant innings against Punjab. The father-son duo also talked about Abhishek’s poor form before the match. Abhishek also got a little luck on the way to score a century.

Abhishek’s father said, ‘I can’t tell how happy I am. I inspired him. I told him not to worry about bad form – it is with every cricketer. He was also a bit unfortunate. In the second match, he was run out. He played some shots that could not cross the boundary. But now, he has withdrawn his confidence and won for the team. In the coming days, he will do well and SRH will also do well.
