A sensational case has come to light from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. Here a police constable committed suicide by shooting himself with his service carbine. The deceased has been identified as Rupendra, who was posted as a gunner of a judicial magistrate in the Civil Lines police station area.
Superintendent of Police Nagar Satyanarayana Prajapati said that the body of a youth was found near the railway track in the Civil Lines police station area late Sunday evening. When the police team reached the spot, the body was identified as Constable Rupendra. There were marks of bullet on his body and his service carbine was found nearby.

Police suspect that the constable shot himself with his own rifle. However, the reasons behind the suicide have not been clear yet. The police have taken the body in possession and sent it for postmortem and a thorough investigation of the case has been started.
According to SP City Prajapati, at the moment prima facie the case seems to be of suicide. The exact reason will be clear only after the post mortem report and technical investigation. The death of constable Rupinder has spread a wave of mourning in the department. Fellow policemen say that he was regular and normal on duty.
