Meanwhile, the ruling Trinamool Congress has accused the BJP of trying to make the atmosphere communal. TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said, BJP is trying to convert Ram Navami into a political program. They are not in development politics. They want to do politics above religion and create some kind of disturbance. Bengal will not tolerate it.
What are security arrangements
Police sources said that drones and CCTVs are being used extensively to keep a close watch on all the processions. Quick response teams have also been deployed at sensitive places like Antali, Kosipur, Khidarpur and Chitpur in Kolkata. The live footage of the rallies is being streamted at the Kolkata Police Headquarters in Lalbazar, where more than 20 IPS officers have been appointed to monitor different city divisions.
In the districts, senior IPS officers are monitoring the situation in Howrah, Hooghly, North 24 Parganas, Asansol in West Bardhaman, East Bardhaman, Malda, Murshidabad, Jalpaiguri and Siliguri to ensure that the celebrations are peaceful.
