Australia also had a very bad start and Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah was the first to make the breakthrough. Bumrah celebrated wildly after dismissing Usman Khawaja for 2 runs.
He went to Sam Constas in celebration. In fact, Constance had an argument with Bumrah just one ball before Khawaja was dismissed. Till stumps on the first day, Australia had scored 9 runs at the loss of one wicket.
On the second day, the Indian team soon got success, when Jasprit Bumrah got Marnus Labuschagne (2) caught out by wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. The on-field umpire had not given Labuschagne out, so Bumrah took a review because the ball had clearly hit Marnus’ bat. Then Mohammad Siraj gave two big blows to Australia in the same over. Siraj first got Sam Constas (23) caught by Yashasvi Jaiswal in the gully region. Then dangerous batsman Travis Head (4) was also disposed of. Head was caught by KL Rahul at second slip.
After this, Steve Smith and debutant Beau Webster took the innings forward and made a partnership of 57 runs, but just before lunch on January 4, Steve Smith (33) departed. Prasidh Krishna got him caught out by KL Rahul at slip. Australia got the sixth blow in the form of Alex Carey, who was bowled by Krishna.

Rohit-Akash Deep out, Krishna-Gil enter
Rohit Sharma decided to keep himself out of this match. Shubman Gill has got a chance in place of Rohit. Apart from this, fast bowler Akash Deep remained out of this match due to back pain. Prasidh Krishna, who is playing his third Test, has got a chance in place of Akash. Akash has taken five wickets in two Tests so far in Brisbane and Melbourne. He was a bit unlucky in not taking many wickets, as many catches were missed from his bowling during the two matches.
Debut of 31 year old player for Australia
It has been decided to drop Mitchell Marsh and include Beau Webster in the team for the final Test match to be held at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. Marsh scored 73 runs in this series at an average of 10.42. The 31-year-old Webster has scored runs at an average of 57.10 in first-class cricket since March 2022, while also taking 81 wickets at an average of 31.70. Mitchell Starc will play in Sydney
Why was Marsh out?
In the last three Test matches, Marsh was given only 13 overs. Marsh, 33, suffered a back complaint after the first Test in Perth, but the Australian management has since insisted there are no fitness concerns for him. But Marsh had to struggle with the bat. He scored 9, 5, 4, 2 and 0 in the last five innings, making it clear that he was in trouble.
