India vs Australia Test Series: The Indian team had to face 0-3 defeat in the Test series against New Zealand. Now the Indian team has reached Australia tour for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. On this tour, the Indian team is going to play a five-match Test series against host Australia. This series is also very important for India to reach the final of the World Test Championship (WTC). The first match of the Test series is to be played from 22 November (Friday) at Optus Stadium in Perth.
So this great will play in Perth Test, Rohit-Gil are out!
Before the Perth Test, a good news has emerged for the Indian team. Star batsman KL Rahul has once again started batting in the nets. Rahul was hit by Prasidh Krishna’s ball during the practice match against India-A. Rahul had an injury on his right elbow. Due to this he had to go out of the field. However, Rahul has now completely recovered.
KL Rahul is expected to open the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal in the absence of captain Rohit Sharma in the first match. Let us tell you that it is difficult for Rohit to play in the Perth Test. Rohit has become a father for the second time and he wants to stay with the family for a few days. Rohit is likely to join the team for the Adelaide Test. On the other hand, the chances of Shubman Gill playing in the Perth Test are negligible.
Shubman Gill got injured on his left thumb while taking a catch at second slip in the practice match. He looked to be in a lot of pain after the injury and immediately left the field for a scan. A source in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) told news agency PTI that Gill has a fracture in his left thumb and with less than a week left for the Test to begin, it will be almost impossible for him to be fit in time. A thumb fracture generally takes around 14 days to heal, after which the person is expected to resume his regular net sessions.
The second Test in Adelaide is starting from December 6, so there is a possibility that Shubman Gill will be fit in time for that match. Sarfaraz Khan also got injured in his elbow during practice. He was seen going out holding his elbow. However, Sarfaraz has become fit for the Perth Test. In the Test series against New Zealand, Sarfaraz played an inning of 150 runs in a match.
If seen, KL Rahul’s recent performance has not been anything special. Rahul was out for zero in the first innings of the first Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru and returned to the pavilion after scoring 12 runs in the second Test. After this, he did not get a place in the playing-11 in the remaining two matches. KL Rahul did not score runs even against Australia A, where he was a part of the India A team. Rahul could score 4 runs in the first innings and 10 runs in the second innings.
