‘India -China needs to work together to maintain the unity of G20’, Jayashankar in South Africa – S Jaishankar on India China G20 Integrity AMID Global Political Situation NTC

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on Friday insisted on making shared efforts of India and China in maintaining the unity of G20. The Foreign Minister admitted that the world is going through a polarized phase, in such a situation the importance of G20 increases even more. Jaishankar is on a two -day visit to South Africa, where he is participating in the G20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting.

This journey of Jaishankar is taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa, which will host G20 in 2025. With this meeting, a series of various talks of G20 has started. He also met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at a bilateral meeting, where he said, “In the polarized global situation, both our countries have worked hard to maintain the stability of G20.”

Discussion on the importance of G20

G20 is an important platform for discussing world economy issues and its role is very important in today’s challenging global situation. This organization consists of the major 20 economies of the world, including India and China. Jaishankar said that platforms like G20 provide dialogue opportunities to India and China, especially when their relations are going through a challenging phase.

Improvement in India-China relations

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi described the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping as “the most important in bilateral relations” in summer last year. The two leaders cleared the way to improve bilateral relations and after the meeting of the two leaders, the tension on the border was also reduced somewhat, and confirmed that India and China should cooperate mutually beneficial as Asian civilizations.

S Jaishankar discussed bilateral issues!

Jaishankar discussed emerging bilateral matters, including taking steps towards management of peace and stability in the border areas. He also informed that the National Security Advisor and Foreign Secretary recently visited China and discussed various issues. Through this bilateral meeting, ideas were exchanged between the two countries on regional and global issues. Apart from these, Jaishankar said that this dialogue will prove to be helpful in strengthening the overall bilateral relations.
