The strength of the Indian Navy is going to increase. The Government of India is preparing to make a big defense deal with France. India is preparing to buy 26 rifle-M fighter aircraft from France for Rs 63 thousand crore. If this deal is fined, then it is going to be the most important deal of FY 2025-26. At present, the deal is being considered almost fixed.
Deal on Rafael-M between France-India
26 Rifle-M (Marine) fighter aircraft India is going to buy from France for Rs 63 thousand crore. According to sources, the proposed deal to buy 26 Rafale M fighter jets from France is likely to reach the final form after getting approval from the Prime Minister -led Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) this month.
This deal will be done from the government at the government level. Which includes 22 single seater Rafael M fighter aircraft and 4 twin seater fighter aircraft for the Navy.

Rafael-M will start meeting 2029
The delivery of the aircraft will start from the end of 2029 after the deal is approved. By 2031, India will get full consignment. These rifle-M aircraft will be operated with aircraft carriers like INS Vikrant and INS Vikramaditya. Both the naval ships carry out their missions with the fighter aircraft of the old MiG 29.
Complete support package will be available in a deal of ₹ 63,000 crore
This deal between France and India covers not only aircraft but also a broad package. This deal includes maintenance, training and offset responsibilities of the aircraft. Training is also part of this deal to operate and maintain Rafale M to Navy employees.

Plan to construct three new Scorpene submarines
The Majgaon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) and France’s Naval Group are preparing to build three more Scorpene class submarines under the India Project-75.
Specialty of Rafael-M
France’s Rafael-M is adapted to operate from aircraft carrier. It is equipped with many types of missiles. Its maximum speed is 2,222 km and its combat range is more than 1,850 km. There is facility to fill the air fuel. AESA is equipped with radar and spectra electronic warfare system.
