India presses for fair and mutually acceptable settlement of border dispute with China ntc
The 23rd Special Representatives (SR) Dialogue was organized between India and China on Wednesday. In this conversation, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi discussed the border dispute. Both sides agreed to maintain peace on the border and promote mutual cooperation.
MEA (Ministry of External Affairs) said that in the meeting there were positive discussions on issues like resumption of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, increasing border trade and sharing of data of rivers.

This dialogue happened after about 5 years. The last SR Dialogue was held in December 2019. This conversation was decided after the meeting between PM Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan in October.
MEA said, ‘Both sides stressed the need to resolve the border dispute in a just, logical and mutually agreed manner. They discussed several steps to improve border management and maintain peace.

China’s statement said that six points were agreed upon in the talks, which included maintaining peace on the border and keeping bilateral relations stable and healthy.
Doval and Wang positively accepted the implementation of the disengagement agreement signed in October. Both sides expressed commitment to resolve the border dispute under the political guidelines decided in 2005.

It was also decided in the conversation that India will organize this dialogue next year. Doval invited Wang to visit India.
After the end of the border dispute in Demchok and Depsang of Ladakh, now the armies of both the countries have resumed petrol and other activities here.
