Bengaluru-based space startup Pixxel writes a new chapter in the rapidly emerging field of hyper-spectral imaging by launching its first satellite constellation. On January 14, a SpaceX rocket launched three of the six Firefly satellites. These were launched from California, America.
The PM wrote, ‘India’s first private satellite constellation by @PixxelSpace reflects the extraordinary talent of India’s youth and underlines the growing capabilities of our private sector in the space industry.’
The beginning of a new era in space
All three satellites are the world’s highest-resolution satellites. With this frequency the Earth can be monitored in more than 150 ‘bands’. Scientists say that these technologies are useful in various fields like agriculture and defence. This is the beginning of a new era in space for India.

Pixel announced after the launch that all three satellites have been successfully launched. Pixel Space said in a post on its social media handle X that all three satellites are working properly and are ready for the next phase. They are moving towards the next stage with their full potential.
