Initial talk for export – Initial Talk for Export

Durable consumer commodity -making companies have started an early level of talks with US importers. The import tax imposed on India by the US on these items is lower than in competitive countries of India like China. The discussion started some time ago, but other people believe that the move by the US government to levy high fees on other countries will help companies increase their global presence in the US.

The US has levied the most tax on China. The US has imposed 34 percent import duty in addition to 20 percent duty imposed on China 2 years ago. Due to this, the total tax on China has increased to 54 percent. China is currently a major exporter of consumer electronics and consumer durables, so the US can become the best export centers for India as the US has imposed a total of 26 percent tax on India. Other countries in Asia like Vietnam and Thailand are also manufacturers of sustainable consumer goods and electronics goods. The US has imposed 46 percent and 36 percent taxes on Vietnam and Thailand respectively. The US will not only consider the television set, but also the export of television panels, washing machines, air conditioner and other home appliances.

Dixon Technologies (India) managing director Atul Lal told Business Sandandard, ‘We have already started initial talks with category importers like television panels. American importers are also looking towards India and Dixon Technologies is a better option for him. Avneet Singh Marwah, CEO of Super Plastronics, also believes that India now has an opportunity to become a favorable export center for export of electronics and sustainable consumer goods and will compel the existing duty to move to American importers to India.

Singh said, ‘America will now consider the import of television panels, washing machines and other items. We have started seeing America as an alternative and India will be one of the cheapest TV manufacturers compared to other Asian countries. However, he said that the company is still waiting for some more clarity regarding the fee.

Sudhir Goyal, Chief Finance Officer of Ambar Enterprises India, an air conditioner’s motor and air conditioner exporter to the US, said that the company is preparing to export to the US. Goyal said, ‘India’s suppliers have gained an increase compared to other countries due to the fees levied by the US government. This will help America’s importers to order in India. He said that the company regularly monitor various global consumers to expand the market.
