Jeddah, Saudi Arabia): The auction of players for the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL 2025 is about to start. The names of 84 cricketers will be auctioned on the first day. This auction will take place in Jeddah on November 24, 2024. Mallika Sagar will start the auction. The names of the first 12 set of players will be auctioned, which also includes famous players. This means that the names of remaining players like Faf du Plessis, Sam Curran and Prithvi Shaw will come up for auction on the second day.

There will be bidding for 12 sets on the first day

BCCI on Saturday night informed the franchises about how the auction will be conducted. The names of 12 sets of players will be auctioned on the first day. During this, there will be one break of 30 minutes and two breaks of 15-15 minutes. Manav Suthar is an uncapped spinner and is ranked 84th in the auction list. Bidding will be limited to this number on the first day. According to the report of Sportstar, the acceleration auction will be held at the end of the second day. For this, each franchisee will have to give maximum 25 names.

Franchise not happy with brace price

In the meeting held before the auction, the franchisees had raised questions on the increased base price. BCCI clarified that bids between Rs 1 crore and Rs 2 crore will increase by Rs 10 lakh, while for the base price of Rs 1.25 crore, the second bid will be Rs 1.30 crore. The method of increasing the bids is the same as last year: Rs 5 lakh (up to Rs 1 crore), Rs 10 lakh (1 to 2 crore), Rs 20 lakh (2 to 5 crore) and Rs 25 lakh (above Rs 5 crore).

The first day of the IPL 2025 auction is going to be very exciting as 84 players will try their luck. The auction will run for two days and many big names will be included in it.
