IPL 2025 Starts March 22nd KKR vs RCB Opener Final on May 25th

New Delhi: IPL 2025 will begin from March 22. The current champion Kolkata Knight Riders will play the first match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at their home Eden Gardens. The final match will also be held on May 25 at the Eden Gardens. The new RCB captain is Rajat Patidar. Sunrisers Hyderabad will play their first match against Rajasthan Royals on 23 March. The BCCI has not yet announced the official schedule, but the franchisees have been told the main matches dates.

10 grounds will be held on the grounds

The matches will also be played in Guwahati and Dharamshala this season. Rajasthan will play KKR and Chennai Super Kings in Guwahati on 26 and 30 March. Punjab will play some of its home matches at Kings Dharamshala. Qualifier 1 and Eliminator Hyderabad while qualifier 2 and finals will be in Kolkata. Other matches will be played in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Lucknow, Mullanpur, Delhi and Jaipur. This has been claimed in the report of Cricbuzz.

Schedule may be declared soon

Fans of IPL schedule have been waiting for the last few days. However, BCCI has not yet officially announced the program. But informally, the board has shared the main matches dates with the franchise. After a special general meeting in Mumbai on January 12, BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla indicated that the IPL would begin on 23 March. But now it is learned that the BCCI has changed the dates. The entire program is expected to come in a day or two.

No announcement of KKR captain

RCB has made Rajat Patidar its captain for the new season. At the same time, KKR has not yet announced the name of the captain. Last season team became the champion under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer but was not retained. Punjab Kings have purchased Iyer as captain in the auction. Apart from KKR, Delhi Capitals have not yet announced their captain’s name.
