Once again a glitch has surfaced in the website of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation i.e. IRCTC, due to which passengers are not able to book Tatkal tickets for their journey. According to reports, passengers booking Tatkal tickets at 10 am faced disruption. On the other hand, due to disruption in booking, the passengers reaching the platform got to hear an announcement from the Railways that the booking facility will remain disrupted at all the sites for the next one hour.
Second fault this month
This is the second consecutive time in the last month of December of the year, when this problem has been seen in the IRCTC website, due to which Tatkal ticket booking has been disrupted. Passengers who had reached the platform to book tickets also got this message, ‘Booking and cancellation will not be available for all sites for the next one hour due to maintenance work, we are very sorry for the inconvenience.’ Earlier on December 26 also, IRCTC server had stalled.
Tatkal ticket booking badly affected
According to the report, this problem occurred in the server on Tuesday morning, due to which those booking Tatkal tickets had to face the most trouble, who were busy booking a day in advance just to reach their destination. Outage tracking service DownDetector noticed this problem around 10 am and according to it, about 700 users reported facing this problem.
Users reporting problems on social media
IRCTC users who were booking their Tatkal tickets online expressed their problems through social media posts due to the glitch in the website. While sharing a screenshot related to the website being down, a user wrote, ‘I was thinking of going to Goa on New Year, but the Railways cheated me.’
