Jaunpur: Claim of Hindu temple below Atala Masjid, controversy over ASI survey

The controversy regarding Atala Masjid of Jaunpur has deepened. The Hindu side claims that there is an ancient Hindu temple beneath the mosque. The Muslim side calls it a 616 year old mosque. The court ordered ASI survey, but the Muslim side is creating obstacles. The 146-year-old ASI report claims that this place was earlier the Atala Devi temple, which was destroyed by Firozshah Tughlaq. The court will now decide the process of survey.
