The torture of January-like cold continues in the month of December itself. From Leh to Srinagar, the mercury has dipped to minus degrees, while from the hill station Shimla to Manali, the severe cold continues. After all, why has the minus degree winter created such an uproar? News is coming from Himachal Pradesh that road traffic has been affected due to heavy snowfall.
Heavy traffic jam on roads in Himachal
In Himachal Pradesh, 223 state highways, 177 roads and 3 national highways have been closed and electricity and water supply has come to a standstill in many areas. Due to the rush of tourists on Tuesday evening, there was a huge traffic jam on Dharamshala Road State Highway in Kangra city. A large number of tourist vehicles were going towards Dharamshala and McLeodganj in Kangra district, due to which there was a traffic jam on Dharamshala Road Highway in Kangra city this evening.
The city is different, the area is different but the havoc of snow is the same. At some places everything was frozen and at some places the snow on the roads put brakes on the wheels of tourists’ vehicles. The second snowfall of the season covered Manali with a white sheet of snow. On one hand, tourists from all over the country are reaching Manali, while on the other hand, tourists’ vehicles are stuck on the highway due to snowfall. The Meteorological Department says that the white attack of nature will continue in Manali for the next 72 hours.
Heavy snowfall in Uttarakhand
The condition of Shimla is also no different from Manali. The picture of Shimla changed due to the first snowfall of the season yesterday. Tourists who came to celebrate Christmas and New Year holidays are enjoying the snowfall. Talking about Uttarakhand, snowfall started yesterday in all four Dhams i.e. Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri. There is snow everywhere. Continuous snowfall is continuing in Kedarnath Dham since last day. More than one foot of snow has fallen in the Dham so far.

Gangotri National Highway is at a standstill. The first snowfall of the season occurred in Tehri. The first snowfall forced Tehri to shiver. Nature has tightened its grip on Kashmir and the water of Dal Lake has started freezing.
Melting increased in the plains
Snowfall continues on the mountains. In many areas the mercury has reached below minus degrees. At the same time, as the grip of winter tightens on the mountains, the cold has suddenly increased in the plains. From Delhi to Patna, from Jaipur to Lucknow, the harshness of winter continues. The cold is going to break records in December before Christmas and New Year. There is a lot of snowfall in the mountains at the moment and the torture of minus degrees continues.
From Kashmir to Uttarakhand and the hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh are completely buried in snow. For this reason, there is severe cold in the plains also. From Delhi-NCR to UP and from Haryana to Rajasthan, people are experiencing bone-chilling cold. According to the Meteorological Department, the cold will become more severe in the next 48 hours.
It would not be wrong to say that the cold has made Delhi look like a bundle. People are looking for shelter to escape the cold at night. The whole of North India is shivering due to cold. Cold wave is wreaking havoc across North India. There is so much snowfall on the mountains in Jammu-Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh that the condition of the people in the plains is worsening due to cold. Nature has made a cold attack on people in Rajasthan from Ajmer to Jaipur.
The weather will get worse now
Light rain is occurring in many districts of UP, due to which the chill has increased. Due to the cold wave, melting cold is being felt in many districts including Lucknow. Pictures are coming from Noida of students hiding from the cold and people saving themselves from the cold by standing in front of the bonfire. From Lucknow to Ayodhya, from Prayagraj to Kanpur and from Agra to the entire Western UP, the severe cold has made life difficult for people, or rather, the cold has hit hard on Christmas.
