Stormy innings of 70 runs in 30 balls
In the Abu Dhabi T-10 League, Jonny Bairstow played an unbeaten inning of 70 runs in just 30 balls last evening. During this, he scored 27 runs in one over of Afghan spinner Sharfuddin Ashraf with the help of three sixes and two fours. Displaying tremendous power hitting, the 35 year old experienced player hit shots to every corner of the ground. In the 28th match of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, Team Abu Dhabi was facing Morrisville Samp Army. Batting first, the Samp Army scored 109 runs on the board in the allotted 10 overs and when the hosts Abu Dhabi team were struggling, Jonny Bairstow took the responsibility.
27 runs scored in one over
Jonny Bairstow awakened his inner strength in adverse circumstances. Left-arm spinner Sharfuddin Ashraf was taken on remand in the sixth over. Bairstow hit two sixes over deep midwicket. The next ball he hit a four towards third man and then went for a six over deep midwicket. To end the over, this destructive batsman hit a four over square third man. In this way a total of 27 runs were scored in the over. The score became 54/3 in 6 overs. But the team’s score in 10 overs was only 106/4 and victory remained three runs away. Bairstow was left standing at the non-strike end and the batsman at the other end could not score runs.

Jonny Bairstow has been playing in IPL since 2019. In 50 matches of the tournament, he has 1589 runs in his name with two centuries and nine half-centuries. In the mega auction of 2022, Punjab Kings bought him for a huge amount of Rs 6 crore 75 lakh with an increase of 207 percent. Since then he was a part of this team. But before the mega auction, neither Punjab retained him nor any other team bid on this power hitter.
