The SIT investigating the murder case of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh has made many big revelations. It is said that the main accused contractor Suresh Chandrakar had withdrawn a huge amount from his bank account a few days before the murder. Suresh along with his brothers had conspired to murder Mukesh. During police interrogation, the accused told the news related to bad road as the reason for the murder.

The iron rod and other items used for the murder have been recovered. The accused had hidden it near Tumnar river on Bijapur Geedam National Highway. Four vehicles used in this incident have also been seized.

4 days before the incident, Suresh withdrew a huge amount from the bank.

According to the SIT, the main accused Suresh Chandrakar was angry over the news exposing corruption in his road construction work. He had withdrawn a large amount of money from his bank account on December 27, four days before the incident. Mukesh Chandrakar (33) had gone missing on January 1. His body was found in a septic tank on a property owned by Suresh Chandrakar in Chattanpara Basti of Bijapur city on January 3.

Police said that Suresh Chandrakar was caught from Hyderabad on January 5, while his brother Ritesh, Dinesh Chandrakar and site supervisor Mahendra Ramteke were already arrested. Among these four, Ritesh and Mahendra attacked Mukesh Chandrakar with an iron rod in room number 11 out of 17 rooms of the crime scene and caused fatal injuries to him. After this the body was put in a septic tank and covered with concrete.

After the incident, mobile phone was thrown in the river to hide evidence

Dinesh Chandrakar came after the incident on the night of 1 January to hide the evidence and help the accused escape as per the pre-planned plan of Suresh Chandrakar. Suresh Chandrakar had planned to stay out of the city at the time of the incident, so that he would not be suspected. As part of a conspiracy, Ritesh, Dinesh and Mahendra had thrown two mobile phones of Mukesh Chandrakar in the Tumnar river, about 65 kilometers from Bijapur.

Suresh was troubled by the news exposing corruption

Not only this, the accused broke Mukesh’s mobile phone with stones before throwing it away. Police searched with the help of divers, but the phones have not been recovered yet. During interrogation, Suresh Chandrakar told the police that Mukesh was his relative. He was publishing news against him on his channel, due to which his work is being investigated. Because of this he was worried.

Police interrogated 50 people, found many important evidences

SIT said that the investigation team kept the four accused separately and examined their mobile phones for two days. Inquiry has been done on the basis of call detail record (CDR). A lot of data has been deleted from his mobile phone, which is being recovered. Police have interrogated more than 50 people. Some important evidence has also been found from them. Information is also being collected about the properties of the accused.

The four main accused are on judicial remand for 15 days

At present all four accused are on judicial remand for 15 days. The crime scene is still kept completely sealed. Every aspect is being investigated thoroughly. The SIT team has videographed all the interrogation, search and seizure proceedings. Formally taken into evidence. During the investigation, the police also found some very important evidence.
