Speaking about RKFI’s debut film, Raja PaarvaiKamal disclosed his plans to acquire the rights to Golmaaldirected by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. “We wanted to do Golmaal,” Kamal shared, underlining his vision of adapting the comedy classic for Tamil audiences.

However, the dream didn’t materialize as another production house, Kalakendra, moved quickly to secure the rights. Adding a humorous twist to the story, Kamal said, “In that corner, at right angles, there was another company called Kalakendra. They took the flight before me and bought the rights for it. This is what happened.”

The anecdote added a lighthearted moment to an event marked by admiration and nostalgia for Singeetam Srinivasa Rao’s remarkable contributions to Indian cinema. Kamal Haasan, who has collaborated extensively with Singeetam, expressed his deep respect for the director’s unique storytelling style and enduring legacy.
