Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is in the news these days for her recently released film Emergency. Kangana is promoting the film vigorously, she is continuously giving interviews. Where she is making many claims. After telling that film maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali had offered her a dance number in ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela’. Kangana is now claiming that Bhansali had also offered her the role of Rani Padmavati in ‘Padmavat’. However, later this role was played by Deepika Padukone.
Kangana should not work with Khans
Kangana expressed her disappointment with the directors of Hindi cinema and said that I do not like the way they present female artists.
In an interview with Ajit Bharti, Kangana said, “I wanted to go to another level as a female artiste.” I felt I deserved better than false eyelashes, botox, etc. I am not that kind of person. This change came to me gradually. After Tanu Weds Manu and Queen, I was disappointed. If you look at the top five directors, how are the roles of women in their films? They hardly get five minutes. I got many offers for big films, in which the Khans were also involved. But, the role in them is hardly of 10-15 minutes, and that too humiliating. They don’t make women look better.
Target on Deepika-Bhansali
Without taking the name of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Kangana said in gestures, “Another example of this great director.” He has created a whole world of prostitutes with Hiramandi, Bajirao Mastani etc. Girls do other work too. This is very disturbing. I do not mean to degrade sex workers, because I have also played the character of a sex worker in ‘Rajjo’.
Kangana revealed that she had rejected Bhansali’s offer to play the role of Rani Padmavati in ‘Padmaavat’ because she found the role meaningless. Kangana said, “I was also offered Padmavati. I asked him that it would be great if I got the script of the film. He said, ‘I never give my scripts.’ Then I asked her, ‘Then what is the role of the heroine?’ He said, ‘The hero gets surprised by the heroine when he sees her getting ready in the mirror.'”
Kangana further said, “When I actually watched the film, I realized that she (Deepika Padukone) was really just getting ready throughout the film. She was right. I don’t want to pay too much attention to such people by saying their names. But I want to ask which director should I work with?
