A case of ragging has come to light in a medical college in Kanpur. Eight seniors of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College have been suspended for six months in the matter of ragging junior students. The accused students have been stopped from appearing in the semester examination and a fine of Rs 10,000 has been imposed.

Principal of Medical College, Dr. Sanjay Kala said that a complaint of ragging was received with eight students. Information about this matter has been given to the government and ragging cell. All the accused students will not be able to enter the medical college for six months. The medical college administration investigated the case and after receiving the facts, action has been taken against the accused.

Ragging by creating fake Instagram ID
Senior students of GSVM Medical College, Kanpur made a fake Instagram ID and sent a message to junior students. The screen shot and phone call details of the students’ Instagram chat and phone calls were taken by going to the hostel with faculty members. These students made messages and phone calls from different places by creating fake Instagram IDs.

Medical College Principal Dr. Sanjay Kala said, “Cyber ​​cell investigation has revealed that these students had created fake Instagram profiles. They sent messages to junior students and ragged.” CCTV footage revealed the misdeeds of senior students. The accused students have apologized for ragging.

A fine of Rs 10,000 with 6 months suspended
The college administration has suspended eight senior students for six months on charges of ragging in the hostel. He has been stopped from appearing in the semester examination and each accused has been fined Rs 10,000 for harassing junior students through fake calls and social media accounts.
