The Mahakumbh-2025 held in Prayagraj ended on Wednesday, but despite this, a large number of pilgrims felt on the Sangam coast. There were many of them who missed out on a holy bath during this grand event lasting 45 days.

Since, traffic restrictions in Prayagraj have been relaxed, so the plains near the Kumbh Mela area have now become parking sites of cars and other vehicles from various states. Many people are going directly towards the Ganges Ghats. However, there is no official estimate, but thousands of people have gathered at Triveni Sangam since Friday morning and are performing a bathing rituals till morning.

By five o’clock in the morning, the energy and enthusiasm of the people at the ghats was still intact, out of which many local residents of Prayagraj, besides Bihar, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, also came.

Many pilgrims who are unable to come to the Mahakumbh Mela have come to the confluence and before taking a holy bath at the confluence, their feelings reflect the same enthusiasm as the bathing people during the fair period. Most of the pilgrims are thronging the confluence nose at the end of the Sangam, while the ghats near it are also filled with pilgrims.

One of them was Ashish Kumar Singh, a resident of Chennai, who came from the capital of Tamil Nadu. He told that he had reached the Sangam site to take a holy bath at around 11.30 pm on Thursday night.

He told the news agency, “I was planning to bathe at around 11.45 pm, but at the same time the fire incident happened, so I went behind fire engines while crossing the Nandi door. But, I finally reached there at around 3 am. It was a wonderful experience.”

Class 11 student Ashish Kumar Singh said that he was born in Bihar, but he grew up in Chennai and speaks Hindi, Bhojpuri, English and Tamil languages equally. A group of family members from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh next to Sangam Noj also took a holy bath.

Let us know that this religious event to be held once in 12 years started on 13 January (Paush Purnima) and there were grand processions of Naga sadhus and three ‘Amrit baths’. It ended on Wednesday i.e. 26 February on Mahashivaratri with the last auspicious ‘bath’. During the Mahakumbh Mela, more than 66 crore people took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam.

However, even after the conclusion of Mahakumbh, the enthusiasm of the people has not diminished. Kedarnath, who sold water utensils to carry Ganga water, was also present in the Sangam nose area and kept selling his belongings from midnight to dawn. He said that the Kumbh Mela is over, but religious enthusiasm is still the same, people are thronging the confluence even after one day. This will remain the same, because Prayagraj attracts pilgrims even in non-Mela days. As dawn, the number of people coming to the confluence site for holy baths decreased with every passing hour.
