A case of cheating by posing as a bride has come to light in Banda, UP. The accused girl came to Banda from Jalaun and lured people on the pretext of marriage. According to the police, the caught girl, along with the gang, has so far cheated 6 people in the name of marriage. She was about to commit fraud in the name of marriage for the seventh time, before the police caught her. Police have arrested four people, two of whom are women. The woman who was caught with the girl used to be the mother of the bride during the marriage. The remaining accused were relatives. After marriage, the girl used to reach her in-laws’ house and whenever she got a chance, she would run away with jewelery and cash.
Actually, a person had complained about the matter to Banda SP Ankur Aggarwal, saying that some people were cheating him in the name of marriage. On this, SP formed three teams and ordered investigation. The police were surprised by the things that came to light during the investigation.
After this, the police detained four people including two women and interrogated them. In this, the accused told that he used to target such people who were not able to get married. According to the police, these people would also get the documents done through stamp or notary, and then the marriage rituals would be completed. The girl would leave and go to her in-laws’ house, then at the opportunity she would make off with jewelery and cash.

Apart from the girl, another woman became her mother. Both the accused happened to be relatives. The accused girl who became the bride is a resident of Jalaun. The woman who became his mother is a resident of Sajeti, Kanpur. The other two accused Dharmendra are residents of Kanpur and Vimlesh are residents of Badausa Banda.
Police say that the call details of the accused have revealed that there are more people in their gang. Inquiries are being made about them. Till now he has arranged the wedding band of 6 people. The band was about to play for the seventh time, but was caught by the police. The six people who were cheated in the name of marriage are people from Madhya Pradesh including Kanpur, Orai, Farrukhabad. Vimlesh, a resident of Banda, used to make people victims of fraud.
This whole matter came to light when the girl’s Aadhar card was asked. After this the victim complained to the rural police station and SP. At present the police is investigating the call details of the mobile phones of the accused. Details are being sought from other districts.
