Aamir Khan was the special guest at the trailer launch of his son’s second film and first theatrical venture, loveyapa at the expansive New Excelsior theater in South Mumbai. They were joined by lead actress Khushi Kapoor, actor Ashutosh Rana, director Advait Chandan, producers Srishti Behl Arya and Madhu Mantena and others. Aamir Khan made a heartfelt speech and also raised laughs.

Aamir Khan began by talking about Khushi Kapoor’s late mother, the legendary actress Sridevi, “Wherever Sri is, I am sure that she’s looking at you with lot of pride and joy. I remember her with a lot of fondness. It would have been so nice if she was here today. But she’s with us.”
He continued, “As a father, main coffee absent raha hoon. I was living in my dhunki due to my work. Hence, I am happy that Junaid has started his career on his own terms. It’s an emotional moment for me and I wish him well. I am proud how he’s conducting himself. The way my mother gave me an upbringing, Reema and I have done the same with Junaid. My prayers and good wishes are with him and Khushi. I hope this film is a huge success.”
Aamir Khan then raised laughs as he talked about Advait Chandan and their last film together, Laal Singh Chaddha (2022). Aamir took a dig at him and at the film’s dismal box office performance.
Aamir quipped, “Advait is someone I am really close to. Sometimes, I feel that he’s like my son. But sometimes, I feel that he wants to destroy me (laughs)! stepson can speak. Sister-in-law is not a son, who keeps saying something.Luckily, very few films of mine were flops. Advait, however, has a contribution to it (laughs). Thank you so much, Advait!”
On a serious note, he further said, “I wish and pray that all three of you taste success with this film.”
loveyapa Releases in cinemas on February 7.
