Lucknow: Punjab Kings have won the second consecutive win in IPL 2025. Punjab won the Lucknow Super Giants’ domestic ground Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium and won by 8 wickets. Playing first after losing the toss, Lucknow’s team scored 171 runs for 7 wickets. Punjab captained by Shreyas Iyer, in response, the match won the match in the 17th over itself. Iyer hit the match by hitting a six.

Lucknow Super scored 171 runs from a poor start from the useful innings of Nicholas Puran and Ayush Badoni. Puran scored 44 runs while Badoni scored 41 runs. Badoni played an important role in bringing the team’s score to 170 runs by adding 47 runs in just 21 balls for the sixth wicket with Abdul Samad (27) in the death overs. For Punjab Kings, Arshdeep Singh was the most successful bowler who took three wickets for 43 runs.

Arshdeep Singh caught Mitchell Marsh (0) in the first over by Marco Yanseen. Opener Aiden Markram (28) hit three fours in Arshdeep’s next over but he was lucky during this time when this fast bowler dripped his catch. Markeram also hit a fours and six on the consecutive balls of Lockie Ferguson (one wicket for 26 runs) but bowled on the next ball. He hit four fours and a six in his 18 -ball innings.

Captain Rishabh Pant (02) once again failed and caught Yuzvendra Chahal off a short fine leg off Glenn Maxwell (one wicket for 22), causing Yuzvendra Chahal to make the team score 35 runs for three wickets in the fifth over. Puran and Badoni then carried the innings forward. Puran hit Maxwell for two consecutive fours while Badoni took the ball of Marco Yansen (one wicket for 28 runs) to the audience.

Puran, however, caught Maxwell on long off in an attempt to play a big shot off Chahal’s ball, ending his 54 -run partnership with Badoni. He hit five fours and two sixes, facing 30 balls. Badoni took the team’s score to 100 runs in the 13th over with a six on Ferguson. David Miller (19) also showed the attitude on Maxwell with two consecutive fours but caught wicketkeeper Prabhasimran Singh off Yansen.

Abdul Samad (27) hit a six on Chahal as soon as he came and then the team scored 150 runs in the 18th over with sixes and two fours off Arshedeep’s consecutive balls. Arshdeep dismissed both Badoni and Samad in the final over. Badoni hit a four and three sixes, facing 33 balls.
