A shocking case has come to light from Lucknow, where a retired railway officer was kept under digital arrest by cyber fraudsters for 8 days. Not only this, the accused also cheated the victim of Rs 12 lakh by threatening him. Actually, retired Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer Kamal Kumar Saxena, living in Sushant Golf City area, was kept under digital arrest by cyber fraudsters for 8 days. The fraudsters threatened him by saying that he was involved in money laundering and collected Rs 12 lakh.

After the incident, Kamal Kumar Saxena has filed a case in the cyber crime police station. According to him, a call came from an unknown number on December 6. The caller revealed his name as Rahul Singh and said that his mobile number has been used for illegal purposes and a complaint has been lodged with the Delhi Police.

The victim said in his complaint that when he told the accused that the number given was not his, Rahul transferred the call to one Gopesh Kumar. Gopesh Kumar introduced himself as an inspector posted at Connaught Place police station in Delhi and said that a case of money laundering would be registered against Kamal Kumar.

Get 12 lakhs transferred by becoming a CBI officer

The accused deceived that if the case has to be closed then they will have to talk to DCP CBI Navjot Simi. According to Kamal Kumar, a call came from an unknown number on December 7. The caller introduced himself as CBI officer Navjot Simi and asked to immediately transfer Rs 12 lakh to a bank account. Also told that it is necessary to pay for verification of their assets through blockchain verification.

Also sold shares worth 90 lakhs

Under fear and pressure, the victim first transferred Rs 9 lakh and then Rs 3 lakh from two bank accounts. After this, when the alleged CBI officer asked questions about the investment, Kamal Kumar gave all the information. After this the fraudster sold the shares worth Rs 90 lakh present in his demat account and asked him to make RTGS of Rs 40 lakh.

Kamal reached the bank on the afternoon of 13th December but it was late in the evening while filling the form and other formalities. The bank was closed on 14 and 15 December. On December 16, the fraudster contacted again and asked to go to the bank and transfer the money. When the victim became suspicious, he talked to his family members and came to know of the fraud.
