A shocking incident has come to light in Girgaon, Mumbai, where unknown miscreants threatened two people with weapons and then sprayed chilli powder on them and looted cash worth Rs 10 lakh. Police have registered a case regarding this incident. Now the accused miscreants are being searched.
According to Mumbai Police, the incident took place at Srinath Co-operative Housing Society in Gulalwadi Circle, Girgaon. VP Road Police has registered a case in this regard and the culprits are being actively searched.
In fact, Indrakumar Motilal Prajapati, a resident of Bhuleshwar and an employee of a private courier company, was handed over Rs 10 lakh in cash by his boss Harish Prajapati on Friday. Indrakumar along with his colleague Anurag Singh Umesh Rajput reached Shrinath Society in Girgaum.
Two unknown persons who were following him stopped him in the society. The robbers threatened them with weapons and warned them of dire consequences if they protested. To carry out the robbery, the criminals threw chilli spray in his eyes, snatched the cash and fled from the spot.
Both Indrakumar and Anurag Singh were frightened by this incident and informed their boss about the incident. On the advice of his boss, he reported the matter to VP Road Police Station. On the basis of Indrakumar’s complaint, the police have registered a case of robbery against two unknown people.
Police have obtained CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to nab the accused. Initial investigation has revealed that the robbers were following the victims for a long time. It is also suspected that someone known to the victims may have planned the crime. The police is conducting a detailed investigation into the matter and efforts are on to nab the culprits.
