Sudarshan played the biggest innings
Sai Sudarshan, running in excellent form, hit a half -century for Gujarat. He scored an innings of 82 runs. Sudarshan faced 53 balls and scored the best score of this session with eight fours and three sixes. This was his third half -century innings of this season. Jose Butler and M Shah Rukh Khan contributed 36-36 runs for Gujarat Titans while Rahul Tewatia contributed 24 not out.
Captain Shubman Gill failed
Sudarshan and Butler laid the foundation of a good score by scoring 80 runs in 47 balls for the second wicket after captain Shubman Gill (02 )’s Jofra Archer was dismissed cheaply off the Invinger ball. Mahish Tuxna (two wickets for 54 runs) ended this participation by lbwing former England captain Butler. Rajasthan Royals bowlers tried to put pressure in the middle overs but then Shah Rukh Khan (20 balls, four fours, two sixes) increased the pace by hitting a brilliant shots on Tushar Deshpande and then hide.
Shah Rukh hit a six and two fours in the 14th over in the 14th over, but fell victim to this bowler. Sudarshan got a life on the score of 81 runs but was dismissed by Deshpande. Deshpande took two wickets for 53 runs. Rashid Khan contributed 12 runs in four balls with one fours and a six. Rajasthan batsmen could not stand
Chasing this goal, Rajasthan Royals had to bear the brunt of the batsmen’s poor performance. Despite the half -century of Shimron Hetmyer (52 runs), the team was reduced to 159 runs in 19.2 overs. Only three of his batsmen could reach double digits, in addition to Hetmyer (52), captain Sanju Samson scored 41 runs and Ryan Parag scored 26 runs. Famous for Gujarat, Krishna ended Samson’s innings who was playing aggressively. He took three wickets for 24 runs.
Rashid Khan bowled well and took two wickets for 37 runs in his four overs. Sai Kishore took two wickets for 20 runs in 2.2 overs while Mohammad Siraj, Arshad Khan and Kulwant Khejrolia took one wicket each. Rajasthan Royals lost the wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal (06) and Nitish Rana (01) quickly. But Samson and Parag together tried to put pressure by adding 48 runs in 26 balls for the third wicket. But both could not play big innings and lost wickets. Then Hetmyer played four fours and three six -studded 32 balls, but no other batsman other than him could play.
