The Malayalam industry, on December 29, woke up to the shocking news of popular actor Dileep Shankar passing away under mysterious circumstances. The actor was currently located in the Kerala capital, Thiruvananthapuram, where he was residing in a hotel as he was in the midst of shooting a television series named Panchgani. However, his sudden demise in his hotel room has left the team of his show in shock and the police are currently investigating the same.

On Sunday, media reported that Dileep Shankar was not in contact with anyone including the team of Panchgani for the past two days. It seems that the director had given an off to the entire team including the actor over the weekend. While no one was in touch with the actor, the hotel officials decided to break into his room after they noted a foul smell outside his room. The staff later contacted the police regarding the incident and the latter is currently investigating the case. While details remain strictly under wraps owing to the mysterious nature of the case, the police has not yet revealed the cause behind the actor’s death either.
Meanwhile, members of the Malayalam entertainment industry have taken to the social media platforms to express their grief and share their condolences. According to news reports, director Manoj asserted that since the shooting was paused for the weekend, he or none of his team members were in touch with the actor. But he did inform the police that the actor suffered from certain health issues, details of which have not been revealed.
On the other hand, some reports have asserted that the police have insisted that there is no foul play being suspected in the case and that the police are awaiting a detailed post-mortem report to know more about the actor’s sudden death.
