Former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh died on Thursday night at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi. After the death of Manmohan Singh, the Central Government has canceled all the government programs on Friday. The government has declared 7 days of state mourning. According to sources, the cabinet meeting will be held on Friday at 11 am. The last rites of Dr. Manmohan Singh will be performed with full state honours.
The former PM was admitted to AIIMS after fainting on Thursday evening, where he died. He was facing health related problems for a long time. Even before this, he had been admitted to the hospital several times due to health reasons.
Congress also canceled programs
Congress has also canceled all its official programs on the death of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Congress MP KC Venugopal said that all official programs of the Indian National Congress, including the Foundation Day celebrations in honor of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, have been canceled for the next seven days. This includes all agitation and outreach programs. The party programs will resume on January 3, 2025. The party flag will remain at half mast during this period of mourning.
