Milkipur Vidhan Sabha Upchunav 2025 Live Updates: Milkipur assembly seat of Uttar Pradesh is voted for Upranav on Wednesday (February 5). This seat is a fight for prestige between Samajwadi Party and BJP. Voting will start at 7 am and will run till 6 pm. The results will be released on 8 February. Scheduled Castes (SC) reserved will decide the fate of 3,70,829 voters on this seat.
Mainly in this by -election, the contest is expected to be between Samajwadi Party’s Ajit Prasad and BJP’s Chandrabhanu Paswan. The BSP by -election is not contesting. The Congress is supporting its coalition partner Samajwadi Party candidate on this seat. Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) has also fielded the candidate from this seat.
4811 voters will vote for the first time
A total of 1,92,984 male voters, 1,77,838 female voters and seven third gender voters are registered for the by -election. There are 4,811 voters for the first time in the assembly constituency. 255 polling centers and 414 polling stations have been set up for the election. Webcasting will be done at 210 polling stations and videography at 25 centers. Voting will be held with the help of civil police, PAC and paramilitary forces.
Awadhesh Prasad had vacated the seat
Let us know that after winning the Faizabad Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the by -election is needed after SP leader Awadhesh Prasad vacated the Milkipur seat. Now, while the SP is trying to maintain this seat, BJP is seeing this election as an opportunity to avenge its defeat in Faizabad. Milkipur was the only assembly seat in Ayodhya district in the 2022 UP assembly elections, which was lost by the BJP.
