‘Minimum security not provided…’, India cancels many more consular camps in Canada – India cancels more consular camps in Canada amid row issue on minimum security ntc

The Consulate General of India in Toronto, Canada, said in an official statement, “Due to the continued inability of the security agencies to provide minimum security against the growing threats, the Consulate has decided to cancel some more consular camps.” Most of them were not at any place of worship, including one at a police facility.”
The decision by the embassy comes days after the Indian High Commission in Canada decided to cancel some planned consular camps. Earlier on 2 and 3 November, two such camps were attacked by Khalistani mob in Brampton and Surrey.
The statement said the Consulate is deeply sensitive to the difficulties faced by approximately 4,000 elderly expatriate members (both Indian and Canadian nationals) living in the Greater Toronto Area who have been denied essential consular services.
Devotees were attacked
On November 2, a Khalistani mob entered the premises of the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton and attacked devotees there. The temple itself was organizing the counselor camp and the Peel Police of Ontario province failed to provide security and take action against the Khalistani attackers.
Banned pro-Khalistan group Sikhs for Justice said its supporters were protesting the presence of Indian Consulate officials, who had come to assist in administrative services.

The Indian High Commission was providing essential services to Canadian-Indians who were targeted by anti-India forces. Following the attacks on the Indian-Canadian community in Brampton, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said consular services have been hit due to security concerns, and expressed hope that camps would continue in other cities.
Diplomatic relations between India and Canada have deteriorated rapidly after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused Indian agents of involvement in the conspiracy to murder Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in September last year. India strongly denied these allegations and targeted the Trudeau administration, accusing it of pursuing appeasement politics and spoiling India-Canada bilateral relations.
