Amaranstarring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, aimed at showcasing the journey of Major Mukund Varadharajan inspired by a segment from the book ‘India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes’. The film seems to have garnered attention not only among citizens of the country who have expressed pride over the sacrifices of army officials but the Minister of Defense too has decided to honor the biographical war drama. Shri Rajnath Singh, Minister of Defence, met the team behind the successful film Amaran—actor Sivakarthikeyan, director Rajkumar Periasamy, and producer R Mahendran—at his residence in New Delhi.

The Minister congratulated the team for their exceptional portrayal of the patriotism and heroism of Major Mukund Varadarajan and the Indian Army. The producer of the film Kamal Haasan, who is currently abroad, expressed his gratitude for the support of the Ministry of Defense and the Indian Army. He acknowledged their cooperation, which played a crucial role in ensuring the authentic portrayal of the heroes of the Indian Army. Also present at the meeting were Vishwanath Ramaswamy, Founder and Director of Divo Movies, and Colonel (Retd.) Vinoth Saravanan.

The Honorable Minister extended his congratulations to the Amaran team for the film’s remarkable success. As a biopic of Major Mukund Varadharajan, this meeting resonated deeply with the patriotic spirit and heartfelt tribute that the film embodies for our nation’s heroes.”

Speaking of the film, Amaran is expected to be moving tribute to the real-life hero, blending action, emotion, and realism into a powerful cinematic experience. It follows Indhu Rebecca Varghese, Mukund’s wife, who narrates the life of the Major on her way to New Delhi to receive the Ashoka Chakra, which was awarded posthumously to Mukund. Produced by Kamal Haasan, Mahendran, and Sony Pictures, and directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, the film has been receiving rave reviews from audiences and has been making waves at the box office.
