Jeddah: The mega auction for the Indian Premier League 2025 has concluded. The mega auction was organized in Jeddah city of Saudi Arabia. A total of 182 players have been bought in this auction. 72 players were sold in the first day’s auction, but the fate of a total of 110 players was open on the second day. On the second day of the mega auction, 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Bihar became the youngest player to be sold in this league. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was out of the Indian team for more than two years, was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 10 crore 75 lakh on Monday, the second day of the auction. Suryavanshi was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1 crore ten lakh. Suryavanshi, who made his T20 debut for Bihar in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Saturday against Rajasthan, scored 13 runs in six balls. He was out on the ball of Deepak Chahar. Suryavanshi recently scored a century in the Youth Test for India Under-19 team against Australia Under-19 team in Chennai and he also became the youngest player to achieve this credit. Suryavanshi had scored 104 runs in 62 balls in that match.

Ajinkya Rahane did not find any buyer earlier but on his return to the auction, Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for Rs 1.5 crore. New Zealand’s star batsman Kane Williamson, Mumbai’s Shardul Thakur and Prithvi Shaw did not find buyers. Bhuvneshwar, who will turn 35 before the next season of IPL, has taken 300 wickets in 287 T20 matches. He last played for India in November 2022 against New Zealand. But the equations of the auction are such that every team needs at least three Indian fast bowlers and the pool is not that big.
