A shocking incident has come to light from Mumbai. Rishabh Jewelers, located in Saat Rasta area near Mahalakshmi, was made the victim of robbery in broad daylight. Two people posing as customers brandished weapons and looted gold and silver jewelery worth Rs 1.91 crore, Rs 15,000 in cash and a Wi-Fi router.

The accused also beat up the owner and employees, tied them up and fled from the spot. Agripada police have registered a case of theft against two unidentified persons, while the crime branch has formed 5-6 teams to investigate the case.

Robbers entered the shop posing as customers

According to the complaint lodged by Bhavarlal Dharamchand Jain (50), a businessman living in Chinchpokli, the incident happened around 3.30 pm on Sunday afternoon. The robbers entered the shop located in Laxmidas Wadi on Sane Guruji Marg on the pretext of buying jewellery.

Before anyone could understand anything, they threatened Jain and shop employee Puran Kumar with a gun and a knife. After this he tied them with ropes and warned them of dire consequences if they protested.

Important clues found from CCTV footage

The stolen items include 2,458 grams of gold jewelery worth Rs 1.91 crore, 2,200 grams of silver jewelery worth Rs 1.77 lakh, Rs 15,000 in cash and a Wi-Fi router.

Agripada police reached the spot immediately after receiving the information and registered the case. Important clues have been found from the CCTV footage of the shop, which are being analyzed. Meanwhile, the Crime Branch has started a parallel investigation to nab the criminals.
