Mumbai Police, in a major action, has arrested 13 Bangladeshi citizens living illegally in Nalasopara area. Those arrested include 5 men, 4 women and 4 children. Senior Inspector Avinash Kaldate of Ghatkopar Police Station said that this action started from Bhim Nagar Junction on 10 December 2024. The police had detained a Bangladeshi national Mohammad Ali Ahmed Mian Shaikh that day.

During interrogation, he revealed that there were other Bangladeshi citizens living in Nalasopara area. Based on this important information, the police raided Nalasopara area and arrested 13 Bangladeshi citizens. The arrested people have been identified as “Taibur Ajgar Shaikh, Alam Ajgar Shaikh, Mijanu Salam Shaikh, Abdul Siraj Shaikh, Murad Mijanur Shaikh, Ratna Taibur Shaikh, Amina Murad Shaikh, Sabina Abdulla Shaikh, and Kohinoor Mijanur Shaikh. Four children have also been detained.

Investigation has revealed that all these people entered India illegally from the West Bengal-Bangladesh border. After this he reached Mumbai by different trains and started working as a laborer here. The police is now investigating whether these people have made any fake documents in India.
