Myanmar Earthquake India Operation Brahma – INS Satpura and Savitri of the Indian Navy reached Myanmar with 50 tonnes of relief material, so far more than 2000 deaths – Myanmar Earthquake Update Operation Operation Operation Brahma Indian Naval Ships at Yangs at Yang

So far more than 2000 people have died due to the devastating earthquake in Myanmar. Relief and rescue operations are going on at the war level. India is also providing assistance to Myanmar under ‘Operation Brahma’. Two warships of the Indian Navy, INS Satpura and INS Savitri, Yangon ports of Myanmar arrived late Monday night with 50 tonnes of relief material. India’s Ambassador to Myanmar Abhay Thakur handed over the material to Myanmar officials on Tuesday morning.

India’s assistance to Myanmar

On March 29, Myanmar relief material was sent from INS Satpura and Savitri under Operation Brahma. Which has now reached Myanmar. Earthquake victims will be assisted with this material. External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar has posted on X that two Indian Navy ship materials have reached Myanmar.

Indian Navy and Air Force active in relief mission

The Indian Navy and Air Force are active to provide relief to earthquake victims. The Indian Embassy in Myanmar has informed that large -scale relief assistance was provided to Yangon, NAPEDO and Mandalay. For this, Indian Navy warships and six Indian Air Force aircraft were used.

India started Operation Brahma on 29 March to provide assistance to earthquake victims in Myanmar. After which the Indian Air Force and Navy are transporting relief material to Myanmar. The Indian Navy has so far taken 15 tonnes of relief material to Myanmar. Which includes hygiene kits, generators, medicines, tents, food items blankets, sleeping bags and essential items.

The devastating earthquake in Myanmar

On March 29, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake occurred in Myanmar. Its center was a teak area near Mandalay. Earthquake tremors were felt in Myanmar, Thailand, China, India. However, Myanmar was the most affected. So far, more than 2000 people have died. Many buildings and bridges have collapsed. Thousands of people are still feared to be trapped in the debris. The International Relief Team is active in Myanmar.
