In fact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the additional 13 km Delhi phase of Namo Bharat Corridor between Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar on Sunday. The inauguration will take place around 11 am and PM Modi will travel from Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar.
Delhi Traffic Police has also issued an advisory regarding this. It has been said that due to the VVIP visit in East Delhi, there is a possibility of heavy traffic on some roads. To protect the general public from traffic jams and for smooth flow of traffic, traffic on the following roads will be closed or controlled. During this period many routes will be diverted.
Diversion will be applicable from 7 am to 1 pm
These restrictions will be in effect from 7 am to 1 pm on Sunday, January 5. The traffic police said that residents who are traveling to Ghazipur Road, New Ashok Nagar Metro Station Road, Noida Link Road are advised to allow extra time for their journey. This advisory is especially important for those who will be traveling through these areas for office or other important work.
Routes will remain diverted on these routes-
1. NH-9 (Sarai Kale Khan to UP Gate – both carriageways)
2. NH-24 (Sarai Kale Khan to UP Gate – both carriageways)
3. Ghazipur Road (Kondali to Noida Link Road)
4. New Ashok Nagar Metro Station Road (Sarpanch Chowk to Holiday Inn Red Light)
5. Ghazipur Nala Road (Kondali to New Ashok Nagar Metro Station)
6. New Ashok Nagar Metro Station from Chilla Border
7. Noida Link Road (Chilla Border to Akshardham Temple)
Delhi to Meerut in 40 minutes
With the inauguration of this phase, Namo Bharat trains will enter Delhi for the first time. This will give a new dimension to regional connectivity on the Delhi-Meerut route. A 42 km route is already operational between Sahibabad and Meerut South, which includes 9 stations. With this inauguration, the active part of Namo Bharat Corridor will be expanded to 55 kilometers, which will have a total of 11 stations.
This newest section is 6 kilometers underground, which includes Anand Vihar station. This is the first time that Namo Bharat trains will run on the underground route. There is also an elevated station at New Ashok Nagar, both located in Delhi. Anand Vihar underground station is one of the largest stations of Namo Bharat Corridor. Passengers will be able to reach Meerut South from here in just 35 minutes. This will reduce the travel time by one-third, allowing passengers to travel from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South in just 40 minutes.

Namo Bharat trains will be available for passengers at an interval of every 15 minutes from 5 pm on January 5. The fare from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South will be Rs 150 for ordinary coach and Rs 225 for premium coach. With the opening of this corridor, which will reduce the journey from Delhi to Meerut by one-third, it will be possible to reach Meerut South from New Ashok Nagar in about 40 minutes. Till date, NaMo Bharat trains have served more than 50 lakh passengers. Construction work on other phases is progressing rapidly.
