Williamson said, ‘Rajasthan Royals have many other talented batsmen, but today Nitish was the match winner. In such a match, where the scope of mistake on such a wicket was very low, I believe that Rajasthan Royals’ fielding won them. When the Super Kings wanted 39 runs off 12 balls, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (16) hit a four on the short third man and a long six off Tushar Deshpande’s ball but could not win the team.
Talking about Dhoni’s fast, Williamson said, ‘Super Kings were playing on the anti -Kings, yet most of the audience was in yellow dress, it was incredible. We have seen it many times before. He said, ‘I felt that Dhoni would finish the match by scoring 20 runs in an over- he has done this many times. But this was a difficult task as 40 runs were needed in the last two overs. Still it was special to see him getting out. I can only imagine how scary it would be to defend the score for any opposition team when he is at the crease.
Former Indian batsman Ambati Rayudu also believes that fielding created a huge difference in the match. Former superings player Rayudu said, ‘When you are playing a close match, these one percent things matter a lot. We saw many incredible catches in this match- it is rare to see so. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings did not do good fielding except for one or two occasions in the inner circle.
