Last week, NCP (Sharad Pawar) leader Jitendra Awhad and Ajit Pawar faction leader Amol Mitkari has opened a front against actor Rahul Solapurkar after a controversial statement made on Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Awhad openly threatened to beat Solapurkar, while NCP (Ajit Pawar) leader Amol Mitkari even said that whoever cuts Solapurkar’s tongue will get a reward of one lakh rupees.
Solapurkar also came into the discussion due to controversial statements made by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s escape from Agra. His new statement has resentment in Ambedkarists and other parts of society across the state.

Disputed claim was made about Dr. Ambedkar!
Solapurkar claimed in an interview on a local web portal that Dr. Ambedkar was born in the Sapkal family and later he was adopted by Ramji Ambedkar. He said that according to the Vedas, who is known for his learning and knowledge, he is a Brahmin. On this basis, he claimed that Dr. Ambedkar was also a Brahmin.
Shiv Sena (Shinde) leader also protested
After this statement, the Pune police gave security to Solapurkar and deployed a heavy police force outside their house amidst heavy opposition from people and Mahayuti’s associates. Shiv Sena (Shinde) leader and Industry Minister Uday Samant said, “Actor Solapurkar is a learned man, but he should not make such statements on history. He has seen his interviews and should avoid comments on history.”

Solapurkar apologizes after protest
Solapurkar had received a lot of appreciation for the role of ‘Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj’ and worked in many films. After the dispute, he was forced to resign from the post of Trustee of Bhandarkar Institute Trust. After heavy criticism and outraged response from different sections, Solapurkar finally apologized.
