There is a lot of discussion about One Nation, One Election in the country for the last few days. Two bills related to this were also going to be presented in the Lok Sabha on Monday. It is now being told that both the bills will not be presented in the Lok Sabha on Monday. The bill has been removed or amended from the agenda.
Earlier in the agenda released on Friday, it was said that the bill will be placed in the Lok Sabha on Monday. Right now the reason is not clear why the government decided not to bring the bill on Monday and on which day it will be brought now. However, the winter session of the Lok Sabha is ending on December 20.

Government delayed in bringing the bill
The government has delayed the introduction of bills based on ‘One Nation, One Election’ in the Lok Sabha. According to sources, these bills can be brought in the House after the completion of financial business. Earlier these bills, the Constitution (129th Amendment) Bill and the Union Territory Laws (Amendment) Bill, were listed for introduction in the Lok Sabha on Monday.
These bills have not been included in Monday’s agenda in the revised list released by the Lok Sabha Secretariat. However, after the permission of the Lok Sabha Speaker, the government can also introduce the bill in the House at the last moment through supplementary listing.
What is One Nation, One Election Bill?
Both these bills are related to holding simultaneous elections for the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. Last week, as per the rules, copies of these bills were distributed among the members.

Currently the winter session of Parliament is going on, which will end on December 20. Before that, the government wants to focus on passing the earlier demands of the first batch, which are listed for Monday.
