Suchir Balaji, a 26-year-old former researcher at OpenAI, the leading artificial intelligence company that developed ChatGPT, was found dead in his San Francisco flat. Suchir had recently raised serious questions about the working style of OpenAI. According to San Francisco Police, this incident took place on November 26 and came to light on December 14.
According to local media reports, Balaji had not left his house for a long time and was not even answering phone calls from his friends and colleagues. When Suchir’s friends and colleagues reached his flat, they found the door locked from inside. He informed the San Francisco Police about this. When the police broke the door of the flat and entered, Suchir Balaji’s body was found. Initial investigation has not found any evidence of any foul play, police suspect that it could be a suicide.
