Pakistani intelligence agencies have thwarted a major terrorist conspiracy. These terrorists were planning a major attack on the Masroor base of the strategically important Pakistani Airforce, which was to cause heavy damage to Pakistan. This information has been given in a media report on Friday.
According to a report by a newspaper, intelligence agencies raided Karachi this week and arrested nine suspected terrorists. These terrorists were tasked with maximum damage to the aircraft and infrastructure by attacking the Masroor base of strategically important Air Force.
According to the report, these nine terrorists have been arrested from their safe places in Karachi. Five of these terrorists have been identified as Afghanis.
Citing intelligence sources, the report said that nine terrorists had entered Pakistan from Afghanistan a month ago and for the last one month he was living in a low -income area near the airbase and monitoring the area to carry out his plan.
‘Plan of attack on airbase’
A source said that the terrorists were tasked to attack the base using heavy ammunition and explosives, so that any operation could be prevented and the security forces can be confused for a long time. Also, the base and aircraft can be maximum damaged. These terrorists also wanted to spread panic in the country by targeting people.
‘Ammunition and maps recovered’
The source was quoted as saying, “They had no intention of coming out alive from the base and we have recovered a lot of materials, ammunition and explosives and maps outlining their plans.”
The report said that the terrorist attack was planned by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and it was led by a high-level terrorist of the banned group who fled to Afghanistan after killing a Chinese citizen in Karachi a few months ago.
