Pakistan on Saturday deported more than 3,000 Afghan refugees from the country through the Torkham border located in the northwestern part of the country. The officers provided this information. According to Additional Deputy Commissioner Irshad Khan Mohammad of Khyber district, the process of evacuating illegal foreign residents from the country is going on.
In fact, Pakistan had announced in January that those who have Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) will have to leave the country by 31 March, otherwise they will be forcibly evacuated. A campaign was started from April 1 to remove those who come in this category.
According to the news agency PTI, 3,514 foreigners arrested from various parts of Punjab province were sent out of the country through the Torkham border. 756 illegal foreign nationals arrested from various cities of Punjab were sent directly to Turbhaham, while foreigners, who were detained from Zuma Khan Transit Camp in Peshawar, were also deported from the Tarkham border.
Meanwhile, a legal process was completed for foreign families who voluntarily arriving at the Landi Cotto Transit Camp, where 2,758 illegal foreign nationals surrendered. Irshad said that out of the people who reached the transit camp, 1,561 persons were living without documents, while 1,197 had ACC. According to officials, a total of 33,258 illegal foreign nationals have been expelled from the country since 1 April.
