Pakistan’s intelligence agency Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) issued a statement on Sunday saying that Saudi Arabia has sent 10 Pakistanis back to the country by going to Umrah visa. All these beggars were taken into police custody as soon as they landed at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.

Due to its people who went to Saudi on Umrah Visa, Pakistan has to raise embarrassment at the international level. In the last few years, Saudi Arabia has repeatedly raised the issue of beggars in front of Pakistan. In November 2023, Pakistan Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi had said that widespread action has been initiated against those who are using Pakistani Haj and Umrah visas for begging.

Pakistani was begging in Saudi for several months

The 10 beggars who have been detained by the Pakistan police were begging in Saudi Arabia for the last several months. He has been sent to Karachi Anti Human Trafficking Circle for further action against beggars.

FIA said that it is keeping a close watch on immigration activities at the airport. Passengers going for traveling abroad are being strictly checked and legal action is being taken against those who are going abroad for beggar.

Crime begging in Saudi Arabia

The law provides for sending foreign beggars to be sent back to their country after completing the punishment and paying the fine. It also states that foreign beggars who are punished will never be able to work in Saudi again.
