Demonstrations were held at many places demanding the cancellation of the recent examination of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). Even after this, the re-exam was organized on January 4 as scheduled. Meanwhile, Prashant Kishore, founder of Jan Suraj, sat on a fast at Gandhi Maidan demanding the cancellation of the 70th BPSC exam. The administration had appealed to him to change the place of fast, terming it “illegal”, but he (Prashant Kishore) refused to do so. Kishore said, ‘Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should listen to the complaints of the students, whatever the students decide, I will do the same.’
PK is on fast unto death since January 2
The founders of Jan Suraj are on a fast unto death since Thursday, January 2, demanding the cancellation of the 70th Integrated (Preliminary) Competitive Examination conducted by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on December 13. However, BPSC had ordered re-exam for some selected candidates who appeared in the December 13 examination. This examination was surrounded by controversies due to allegations of question paper leak.
After this, the examination was conducted again on Saturday at 22 centers in Patna. In which out of total 12,012 candidates, about 8,111 candidates had downloaded their admit cards. However, on Saturday, January 4, only 5,943 students appeared in the re-examination.
BPSC said in a statement issued on Saturday that the re-exam was conducted peacefully at all the centers and no malpractices or irregularities were reported.
