Patna Thief gang exposed 7 including 5 Minor arrested in mobile theft lcltm

Patna Police has arrested 7 members of a vicious thief gang who came from Jharkhand. The gang of thieves caught includes children aged between 10 to 20 years. In this, 5 thieves are in the age group of 10 to 14 years while two are adults. Police have recovered 10 stolen mobile phones from them, including 6 iPhones.

DSP Krishna Murari Prasad of Law and Order of Kotwali, Patna, said that on January 1, mobile phones were being stolen by this gang of thieves, taking advantage of the crowd at Kali Mandir at Boss Ghat in Patna. When the complaint was received, the police reached the spot and started investigation. During this investigation, two small children looked suspicious and were brought to the police station.

During interrogation, those small children told the police that a young man from their village had brought them to Patna to work in a textile shop, but they were given training in stealing mobile phones. He told that for stealing a mobile they are given Rs 500. All the members of this thief gang live in a room in the bypass police station area and steal mobile phones from people’s pockets in crowded places.

The members of the vicious inter-state thief gang used to take out the mobile in a very vicious manner and immediately put it in aluminum foil. Due to this, the mobile network gets destroyed immediately. After this, after reaching their hideout, they hand it over to their gang leader. They are given Rs 500 each as per the number of mobiles they have.

Rajkumar Nonia and Kanhaiya Kumar Mandal, residents of Sahibganj, Jharkhand, having a room worth Rs 2.5 thousand in a rented house located in Bypass police station area, keep 5 children brought from Jharkhand with them two and a half months ago and steal people’s mobiles in crowded places. Kotwali Law and Order DSP said that during interrogation of the arrested vicious thief gang leaders Rajkumar and Kanhaiya, it was revealed that they had brought the children with them by promising their family members to get them work in a clothes shop at Rs 500 per day. Here in Patna, he was given complete training in theft. They used to pick and drop children at the places where the incidents took place. Rs 15,000 were sent every month to the families of the children. Police are currently continuing their interrogation and are trying to find out how many more members are there in the gang.
