Priyansh joins Shashank
Opener Priyansh Arya scored the fourth fastest century in IPL history off 39 balls. He scored 103 runs from nine sixes and seven fours in 42 balls. Priyansh shared a 71 -ball 71 -ball partnership for the sixth wicket with Shashank Singh (52 not out) when the team was in trouble losing five wickets for 83 runs. Shashank then took the team’s score to 200 runs with an unwavering partnership of 65 runs for the seventh wicket with Marco Yansen (34 not out). Shashank hit three sixes and two fours in his 36 -ball innings, while Yansen hit two sixes and two fours while facing 19 balls.
Super Kings bowlers proved to be quite expensive. Khalil Ahmed took 45 wickets while Ravichandran Ashwin took two wickets for 48 runs. Mathisha Pathirana scored 52 runs in four overs while she did not get any success. Punjab won the toss and decided to bat first but lost the wickets of Prabhasimran Singh (00) and captain Shreyas Iyer (09) till the third over. Prabhasimran played Mukesh Chaudhary’s ball on wickets in the second over, while in the next over, Khalil also bowled Iyer.
Priyansh hit a six on Khalil on the first ball of the match. Priyansh hit another six in this over. He also hit Mukesh six and then three fours in a row. Khalil gave a third blow to Punjab by catching Marcus Stoinis (04) at the hands of Devon Conway. Priyansh completed a half -century in just 19 balls with a six on Ashwin. In his next over, Ashwin scored 83 runs for Punjab Kings for five wickets by dismissing Nihal Vadhera (09) and Glenn Maxwell (01).
Priyansh completed the fourth fastest century in IPL history in just 39 balls with three consecutive sixes and one four in the 13th over but caught Vijay Shankar at Long On Long On off Noor in the next over. Shashank found a great partner in the form of Yansen. Shashank hit Noor while Yansen hit Pathirana. Yansen also hit a six in the final over of Pathirana’s innings while Shashank completed a half -century in 36 balls with three runs in the final ball.
CSK batsmen could not score fast
Consway and Ravindra got a good start by adding 59 runs in power play to the superkings chasing the target. Ravindra, meanwhile, hit three consecutive fours on Yash Thakur. Ravindra, however, stumped Glenn Maxwell in the seventh over by Prabhasimran Singh. He hit six fours while facing 23 balls. Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad once again failed and scored a run, he caught Shashank off Ferguson, causing the team’s score to 62 runs on two wickets.
Dubey, who landed as an impact player, showed his attitude by hitting a four and a six on Ferguson, while Conway also hit a six on Marcus Stoinis. Conway completed a half -century off 37 balls with fours and sixes from Yanseen while Dubey also hit a six in this over. Super Kings needed 75 runs to win the final five overs. Ferguson bowled Dubey and gave a big blow to Super Kings. He faced 27 balls and hit three fours and two sixes.
Ferguson scored only seven runs in the over, while Yuzvendra Chahal conceded nine runs in the 17th over, creating 59 runs in the final three overs. In Ferguson’s 18th over, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (27 runs, 12 balls, three sixes, one four) hit two sixes but the Conway was retired out. In the next over of Arshdeep, Yash dripped Dhoni’s catch, taking advantage of which he hit a four and six on the balls. Now 28 runs were needed to win in the final over. Yash caught Dhoni on the first ball by Chahal. Ravindra Jadeja (09 not out) hit a six on Yash but the team stayed away from the target.
