Rajasthan’s opening pair went on for the first time
Yashasvi Jaiswal returned to the form and showed amazing with the bat and scored 67 runs. The 23 -year -old played a brilliant innings with three fours and five sixes in 44 balls. Jaiswal and captain Sanju Samson (38 runs off 26 balls) gave the best beginning of this session of Rajasthan Royals by Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer’s decision to bowl. Lockey Ferguson dismissed both Samson and Jaiswal in the middle overs.
Nitish Rana (12) was also dismissed cheaply, causing Rajasthan Royals to lose three wickets between 11 and 15th over. Shimron Hetmyer (20 runs in 12 balls), looking dangerous, could not score a big score after a bang. But Ryan Parag (an unbeaten 43 off 25 balls) finally batted with a bang, leading the Rajasthan Royals team to cross the score of 200 runs. Parag and Dhruv Jurlel (13 not out of five balls) added 20 runs in the last seven balls, scoring 55 runs in the last three overs.
Vadhera’s fifty did not work for Punjab
The Punjab Kings started chasing the target very poorly. Jofra Archer bowled Priyansh Arya on the very first ball. Captain Shreyas Iyer also became bowled after hitting two fours on the last ball of the same over. Marcus Stoinis (1) and Prabhasimran Singh (17) also could not play a big innings and Punjab scored 43 runs for 4 wickets in the 7th over. After this Glenn Maxwell and Nehal Vadhera handled the innings. The two shared 88 runs off 52 balls for the 5th wicket. Nehal completed his fifty off 33 balls.
Maxwell and Vadhera were dismissed for two consecutive balls. Maxwell was dismissed by Mahish Toricha and Vadhera was dismissed by Vanindu Hasranga. After this, the innings of Punjab Kings derailed. Rajasthan bowlers completely tied the batsmen. Suryansh Shedge became the victim of Sandeep Sharma by scoring just 2 runs. Marco Jansan’s bat scored only three runs. For Rajasthan, Jofra Archer took three wickets while Sandeep Sharma and Mahish Tishta took 2-2 wickets. Shashank Singh remained unbeaten on 10 runs off 13 balls.
