According to the information, the crowd first protested, after which the crowd became furious and the protesters vandalized Bab-e-Kurram, the entrance gate of Bagan main market and set fire to 2 police posts in Palchinar.

Deputy Commissioner Kurram Javed Ullah Mehsud said that efforts are on to save the lives of those injured in the barbaric firing. We will restore normal life as soon as possible. A grand jirga (traditional council) will be convened to discuss the problems hindering restoration of peace in the district. Meanwhile, funeral prayers were offered for those killed in the terrorist attack in Baggan and Ochit of Lower Kurram.

Tribal leaders expressed concern

Tribal leaders of Turi and Bangash communities including Jalal Bangash expressed deep concern about this terrorist attack. Rescue officials said about 50 people, including 8 women and 5 children, were killed and 20 others were injured in the attack, while police initially confirmed the death toll at 45. On Friday the death toll increased to 47. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack on the passenger van.
